Happy BOO!
Unfortunately I was working all weekend, but Dan & Emma were able to go to the Cider Mill to get some pumpkins at Miller's. Emma enjoyed digging all the "junk" from the pumpkin!

Santa's work is beginning

Yates
Today we went to Yates Cider Mill with my Aunt Debbie. Donuts, cider & feeding goats! Do goats sleep standing up? Because we saw a few of the baby goats just standing there with their eyes closed, not moving. Pretty odd to witness!

Indiana
Emma and I took a trip with my Aunt Debbie to visit my mom in Indianapolis. We left Friday and came back Sunday. When we got there on Friday, we picked my mom up at work and spent the rest of the afternoon downtown. We ate dinner at a place called Scotty's Brewery. They had the BEST beer, an Indiana beer, called Gumball Head, which is a Three Floyd's beer. It's a light wheat beer, and probably now my favorite of all times.
Saturday we started by going to Anderson Orchard. Not the typical donuts and cider mill, either. They had fried biscuits, elephant ears, & cider slushies. I didn't try the fried biscuits but the elephant ears & cider slushies were delish! We took a wagon ride around the orchard that we thought would drop us off somewhere to pick apples, but it just kept going around the orchard and ended up dropping us off where we got on, so we ended up walking through the orchard to pick apples.
After the Orchard, we went to Buck Creek Winery. We each (besides Emma, of course) tried 5 wines. I'm not much of a wine person unless I can taste it before I buy it. I bought a few different ones that were AMAZING. Hard Cider, Rhubarb & one called Forget me Knot. If I could describe the tastes I would, but just trust me - they were all amazing.
After Buck Creek, we went back to my mom's so Emma could nap, but she wouldn't. Surprisingly enough she wasn't cranky all weekend considering she barely napped at all. We then went to a liquor store to pick up some of the Gumball Head beer that I wanted to get for Dan to try. We walked into a liquor store, and even though Debbie was holding Emma - she got kicked out. Apparently Indiana law is very strict on children accompanying their parents in a liquor store. I would guess they frown upon leaving them in the car as well...
We then went to another winery that we had reservations at (Groupon!) This place was called Chateau de Pique. This winery sat us all down at a table with cheese, crackers, grapes & a list of wines they explained before our tastings. We were able to choose 10 wines to taste after the proprietor already gave us a red tasting that he insists everyone try. I'm not a huge fan of dry wines, but semi-drys are okay. My all time favorite at this particular winery was a 2010 Vignoles. One of my mom's friends had joined us at that winery and was telling us about Gigi's cupcakes doing the cake for a wedding she was going to that night.
Dan's aunt & cousin from Georgia told me about Gigi's cupcakes a few weeks ago. They don't have any in Michigan, so when I heard there was one just down the street from where we were, I had to go see it. After our 10 (sorry, 11) tastings, we chose our favorite to have a full glass of. Lets just say we all had about three glasses of wine there when it was all said and done. We giggled our way down the street to Gigi's Cupcakes & then went to the "Upscale mall" to grab dinner at Cheesecake Factory to sober ourselves up. I have never been to Cheesecake Factory, either (none in Michigan!). It was great, and the cheesecake was even better. Chocolate Coconut Cheesecake. Seriously the best taste in the world.
We then walked through the mall for a while.

Girlie Things
Emma and I decided to play dress up today. She eventually turned the makeup brush into a microphone, danced around her room, had tea with her baby and bear, drew on her chalk board & made me paint her toenails purple. Two of the best hours of my life just occurred.
