Do you have clean drinking water?

http://kensingtonchurch.org/water/

Please visit the link above. Dan & I will be carrying around a gallon of water this week; taking it everywhere we go. To raise awareness of the struggle in Kenya for clean drinking water. These women travel by foot 6 hours to gather water each day, carrying around 40 pounds of water on their backs. This isn't clean drinking water, but it's all they have.
Kensington is raising money to drill wells. Each donation goes straight to helping that cause. If you're interested in donating, click on the link and follow instructions for a tax deducted donation; or if you're giving because the pure love of Jesus is in your heart, I will be collecting to donate in one lump sum by the end of March.
Each time you run the faucets to wash the dishes or take a shower... think of how often we take it for granted.

Life. Changing.

I've never been very vocal about my faith, but lately I've been putting it first. We're going to church more regualarly, Emma is in Sunday school and I'm exploring Jesus more now than I have in my whole life.
I know it was insprired mostly by my Grandmother passing, but also because of this book I'm reading. It's called The Hole in our Gospel by Richard Stearns. Kensington is doing a series on it starting this weekend. I don't know if I'll be finished with the book by then or not, because I'm taking my time reading it. I'm only half way through it and it's changed my view on everything.
I started reading it with hesitation; thinking it was just another overly religious guy trying to make a buck off of lost souls, without living what he preaches. I was wrong. Reading about his struggles with his own faith has allowed me to be okay with my own.
I've gone through the "Yeah right, look at my life, God doesn't exist, he doesn't answer my prayers" phase. Never realizing that I have all the tools I need... I just need to put them to use. Unaswered prayers are unanswered with reason, even if it isn't clear to me what that reason is.
Periodically I'll update on my jouney. But it isn't something I'm going to have an easy time talking outloud about. One thing is for certain: God exists. He is very much alive in everything & everyone, good & bad.
This book is high on my recomendation list and I would be more than happy to lend my copy to anyone interested in reading it (when I'm done). They sell them at Kensington for $5 if anyone wants me to purchase them a copy.

I have to add a little Laura Sarcasisms... No, I'm not getting paid for the advertisment of this book.
